If your post will have pictures, videos, or sound files, click on the media button on the left menu, then click on Add New at the top of the new page.

Follow the directions listed there on the top of the page.
Next, click on the Posts option on the left-hand menu, then on the Add New button at the top of the new screen.
Select the “Visual” tab at the top right corner of the editor screen, click inside the blank area, and begin typing your post. To embed images into your post, click the Add Media button at the top of the editor window and select the image you wish to display. On the right side of the media selection window, scroll down and choose the size you wish to use to display the media. (I typically use Thumbnail – 150 x 150 in a standard post.) Click the “Insert into Page” button at the bottom right corner under the sizing menu.
You may adjust the position of the image somewhat by clicking on the image in the post. I typically choose word wrap as shown to the right of this paragraph.
When you are finished writing your post, simply scroll back to the top of the editor window and, on the right-hand side, you’ll see the options to Preview, Save Draft, and Publish. If you choose Publish, page visitors will see the post title on the right side of each page. If you choose Save Draft, a copy will be saved for future use or editing, but not publicly viewable.
